ACMH Celebrates Two Years as a Partner of Mountains Health

On July 1, 2026, ACMH officially commemorates the two-year anniversary of the hospital joining Mountains Health.

Mountains Health (formerly Pennsylvania Mountains Care Network) consists of three partner hospitals: ACMH, IRMC, and Punxsutawney Area Hospital. Together, they provide exceptional healthcare across Armstrong, Indiana, and Jefferson counties and beyond.

"Two years ago, ACMH joined Mountains Health with a clear vision: preserve local independence and our community values while creating new opportunities to strengthen healthcare throughout our region,” stated Nichole Geraci, ACMH President and CEO. “That vision has become reality. Together, we've expanded services, recruited providers, shared expertise, and improved access to care.”

Over the past two years, Geraci has helped guide ACMH through a period of significant growth and transformation. Under her leadership, the hospital has expanded specialty care services, welcomed new physicians and advanced practice providers, strengthened regional collaborations, and launched a multi-million-dollar electrical infrastructure modernization project designed to support ACMH's future for decades to come. Geraci credits much of that progress to the collaborative nature of Mountains Health, which allows each hospital to benefit from shared resources, expertise, and innovation while maintaining its unique identity and commitment to the communities it serves.

While reflecting on the past two years, Geraci expressed pride in the contributions ACMH has made across the Mountains Health network. “Just as importantly, ACMH has contributed its own strengths, leadership, and clinical excellence to help support our partner hospitals.”

Mountains Health itself has seen a dramatic transformation over the past year. Steve Wolfe, President and CEO of Mountains Health and Indiana Regional Medical Center, announced earlier this year that Pennsylvania Mountains Care Network was transitioning to Mountains Health. The introduction of the new name marked the first step in creating a more unified and recognizable brand for the three hospitals within the healthcare partnership.

"The success of Mountains Health demonstrates that independent community hospitals don't have to stand alone to thrive,” stated Steve Wolfe, Mountains Health and IRMC President and CEO. “Our partnership works because each hospital remains uniquely committed to its community while sharing a common commitment to better healthcare for all."

Dr. Clark Simpson, President and CMO of Punxsutawney Area Hospital, added, “One of the greatest benefits of our partnership is the opportunity to learn from one another and grow stronger together. By sharing resources, ideas, and expertise, each of our hospitals is better positioned to serve our communities. We congratulate ACMH on this important milestone and are grateful for the leadership, collaboration, and contributions they bring to Mountains Health.”
