Staff Nurse/Critical Care Float Pool

Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN), Critical Care, Emergency Department
Job Type: Hourly Full-time

Enhanced Pay: 15% over base RN rate

Summary:

A Critical Care float pool has been created to increase work force resources to adequately staff and care for the patients of ACMH.  Float pool nurses will be assigned to cover patient needs within their service line to allow for the delivery of exceptional patient care in a collaborative clinical environment.

 

Your contribution:

Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, and referrals.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Position Requirements:

Applicants must have a current state RN license. 

For ICU/CCU- applicant Must take a Critical Care course within one year from hire date if less than two years of critical care experience.

Additional requirements include:

Certifications required within six months of hire:

·         PALS

·         BLS/ACLS

·         NRP

·         PACU (ICU/CCU only)

·         NIH Stroke Scale

·         Monitor training

·         Crisis Prevention Intervention
