Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Type: Hourly Full-time or Part-time
Summary:
A specialized healthcare professional who competently performs diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures using radioactive drugs and advanced imaging equipment.
Your contribution:
- Preparing and measuring radioactive doses, which involves complex calculations and careful handling to ensure accuracy.
- Administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients via injection, ingestion, or inhalation, as prescribed by a physician.
- Following strict safety and disposal procedures for all radioactive materials to protect themselves, other staff, and the patient from unnecessary radiation exposure, adhering to the ALARA (as low as is reasonably achievable) principle.
- Maintaining detailed records of the type and amount of radiopharmaceutical used.
- Acquiring and processing images to detect and assess medical conditions.
- Preparing and administering radioactive materials for cancer treatment.
- Monitoring patients during and after therapeutic procedures.
- Explaining procedures to patients and addressing their concerns.
- Ensuring patient safety and compliance with radiation regulations.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Staying up-to-date on advancements in nuclear medicine technology.

Position Requirements:
Clinical work experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology within the last five (5) years
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Nuclear Medicine or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Certification Board
Requires exposure to radioactive, therapeutic and bio hazardous materials.
Current Health Care Provider CPR status
Requires availability for on-call and call-out status
Requires working in stressful conditions and irregular hours
