Psychiatric Care

Since 1960, ACMH Hospital has been providing area and regional residents with comprehensive psychiatric care.  It is one of the oldest, community hospital-based inpatient programs in the region.  Fully staffed by specially trained nurses, physicians and social services/support professionals, the unit provides a comprehensive team approach to psychiatric and mental health issues.  The unit also has a special referral program in conjunction with the ACMH Emergency Department to effectively and efficiently "triage" patients who come through the emergency room.

Throughout the year, the ACMH Psychiatric Services Department provides a variety of community outreach programs for healthcare workers and the general public.  These programs have included sessions on medications, depression, grief & loss and other mental health issues.

Tho help patients adjust to a psychiatric admission, recreation, pet and music therapies are offered in the unit's warm, attractive & home-like environment.
