ACMH Hospital to Host Benefit Gala

The ACMH Foundation is hosting WINGS OF HOPE: The 2017 ACMH HOSPITAL GALA on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Syria Shrine in Cheswick, PA.

The black-tie-optional event will feature an exquisite dinner menu followed by an intimate evening performance by Johnny Angel and the Halos. Guests will have the opportunity to walk away with a Leo diamond or be whisked away to exotic locations if they are the winner of one of the evening's numerous vacation auctions.

The 2017 Gala Committee has selected an outstanding venue for this year’s festivities: the Syria Shrine in Cheswick, PA. The expansive architecture and beautiful details of the Grand Ballroom will set the stage for an unforgettable evening. For the menu, an array of heavenly choices are being prepared for the guests. Diners will be served Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Remoulade or Pan Seared Stuffed Filet Mignon with Prosciutto.

Proceeds from the Wings of Hope ACMH Hospital Gala are going towards bringing comprehensive cancer care close to home. Funds raised will enable ACMH to purchase a replacement Linear Accelerator which features the very latest in diagnostic and treatment technology including advanced 3D imaging capabilities. The accelerator’s higher resolution beam shaping enables more precise targeting of treatment areas. A new Volumetric Modulated ARC Therapy upgrade will offer patients the convenience of significantly faster treatment times.

“It's about a stronger community and not just a piece of equipment,” stated Jackie Lowes, ACMH Hospital Community Relations Coordinator. “Your support enables loved ones and neighbors to stay local for their cancer treatment and care, giving them peace of mind and comfort. There is no compromise on the quality of that care. The ACMH Laube Cancer Center provides exceptional, accredited care, the same as you could get in the city.”

“With your help, we can bring the latest in oncology technology to your family and friends in the Armstrong County area,” stated Mindy McClister, Gala Committee Co-Chair. “We invite businesses, individuals and hospital employees to join us in this effort by attending the Wings of Hope Gala. During the gala, guests will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction vacation packages and be whisked away to exotic locations. Destinations include Lake Tahoe, Key West, New Orleans and Charleston. It’s a great way to support this worthwhile cause, and enjoy a fantastic get-away as well.”

Johnny Angel and the Halos will entertain and entice gala attendees to dance. When you experience an evening with the Halos, you will become a part of the Fabulous Fifties, the Soulful Sixties, the unpredictable seventies and see tributes to The Blues Brothers, Rock ‘n' Roll Hall of Famers and so much more. The Halos trace the street corner acappella scene, the great dance crazes, and the familiar sing-along tunes everyone is sure to remember.

Margaret Christy, Gala Committee Co-Chair, explains more about what attendees can expect. “In addition to the gala supporting a worthwhile cause, the evening promises to be an exceptionally fun and entertaining night. We are really looking forward to welcoming Johnny Angel and the Halos for their performance and enjoying a spectacular dinner. Everything is going to be exceptional!”

In addition to the many auction opportunities, guests will also be invited to participate in the Diamonds From Heaven drawing. A guest in attendance will be the lucky winner of a dazzling .69 carat Leo diamond, valued at over $4,500! Each guest who enters for a chance to win will be given a diamond. Guests will be guessing if it the real thing or a Cubic Zirconia imposter. Only the gemologist appraiser in attendance will have the answer when it is revealed to all at the conclusion of the evening.

“There is still time to get involved,” states Jackie Lowes. “There is still time to get tickets if you would like to attend, and we are accepting donations for basket raffle items right up until the event date. If you would like to participate by making a donation, baskets may be dropped off in the ACMH Hospital H.R. office Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Many businesses and organizations have already stepped forward and sponsored various components of the event, but if anyone else would like to be involved in a sponsorship capacity, we will fit them in, and we welcome that participation.”

The Gala committee is pleased to announce that a lucky guest in attendance could walk away with a 2017 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle! For over four decades, the Gold Wing has been refining the concept of the perfect touring bike – featuring a horizontally opposed engine offering power, smoothness and ultimate performance. Gala guests will be invited to purchase a chance to win the HOPE FOR A GOLD WING contest.  One lucky code will unlock the box and grant the winner the keys to the cruiser.
